This morning another historic milestone occurred with the placement of the final Pandrol Clips that signify the completion of tracklaying of the mainline into the Port of Darwin. NT Chief Minister Clare Martin and the first Lord Mayor of Darwin, Dr Ella Stack activated equipment that secured the line's final Pandrol Clips.

NT Chief Minister Clare Martin presented Dr Stack with a mounted Pandrol Clip, a replica of the specially mounted Pandrol Clip acquired from Australian National Railways in Kulgera in 1979. The original clip was presented to Dr Stack in the hope that one day the line would reach Darwin.
