works and $7.5 million will be spent on building the three passenger

- The NT Show Circuit is fast approaching,
with regional shows and the NT Expo taking place in July. Last weekend
the AustralAsia Railway Corporation and ADrail participated at the Fred's
Pass Rural Show with a focus on increasing awareness of crossing locations
and the type of Crossing signs travellers will encounter. It was great
to chat to a lot of people who have worked on the project at different
stages, and the general feeling among Territorians is one of excitement
and pride to see the train coming to town. This years Show and Expo
displays will see the Railway incorporated with the Department of the
Chief Minister and Office of Territory Development, make sure you look
us up at our new locations to view our new displays and all get all
the latest information on the project.
- The most frequent questions we
get from feedback on our website relate to Completion and Commencement
of Operations, The location of Passenger Terminals and Passenger Services,
answers to all these questions, including contact details are available
on our website at the following link. http://www.aarc.com.au/aarc/news/completion.htm
- Another success story for construction
of the AustralAsia Railway was achieved on 29 April 2003 with the crossing
of the Fergusson River Bridge for the first time in nearly 27 years.
The Fergusson River Bridge, originally constructed for the North Australian
Railway (NAR), carried it's last train in 1976 when the NAR was closed.
See
our article for more information
- Most Northern Territory residents
have not had to be aware of the presence of trains and we would like
to provide a timely reminder that trains are now operating along 1000
km of the 1420 km route. Please STOP, LOOK
AND LISTEN for trains, observe all crossing and safety signs
and signals when approaching crossings and in the vicinity of the railway.
The railway corridor is a construction site and access to the site without
authority from ADrail is strictly prohibited.
